and this house is built of cards and the earth is blowing way to hard

I've decided to take a step back from the sounds of fluffy experimental punk and go back to the genres that make you flutter your eyes closed and sway to the music of guitars strumming, soft drums and of course raspy-smooth-velvety vocals with beautiful lyrics. I am talking of course of Isaac Russell. I have no doubt that most of you have WTFISOA (wtf is she on about) in a little thought bubble above your head right now, but hear me out. He's John Mayer, A+J Stone and everything else wonderful in this world combined in one artist.

Listen to: House of Cards, Lighthouse (the chorus is simply lovely), Elizabeth and Made Me A Man

Enjoy.

A lonely speaker in a conversation

there is a certain place in my heart for the creative, upbeat, fanciful, odd but FUN sounds of Panic At The Disco. Whilst, Nine in the Afternoon was a bit of a let down for me. I am currently liking the newest leaked single The Ballad of Mona Lisa off Panic's upcoming album, Vices and Virtues, it reminds me off the Pretty. Odd. and A Fever days. (:

Enjoy!

Only yesterday was the time of our lives

to continue my british obsession i have opted to feature the mellower sounds of Adele. This award winning artist has produced songs that literally make you sit back for a minute and listen. I credit jonalisblog for showing me the simply beautiful ballad Someone Like You.

I have included songs from her newest album Someone Like You and Set Fire to the Rain, and then Chasing Pavements and Hometown Glory from her previous album.

enjoy. and look for Adele's new album, 21.

there's a spanner in the works

After listening to the absolutely, positively dreadful new Britney Spears song, I was delighted-ly ecstatic to stumble upon the brilliant album titled Tourist History by the British alternative band Two Door Cinema Club. For those of you who aren't too keen to delve into the alternative genre that seems to be becoming more and more popular, Two Door Cinema Club is the perfect transitioning group for you. All those of you who are loving the sounds of Florence and the Machine and The Vampire Weekend to but name a few, will LOVE this.

First: listen to Something Good Can Work, What You Know, I Can Talk and Undercover Martyn

THEN: listen to the rest :) (start with.... Eat That Up, It's Good For You)

enjoy. and ps. they're touring sydney soon (:

Look outside at the raincoats coming, say OH

since the tragedy of twenty-10 (including but not restricted to the robbery of my macbook) i havent been able to download any new music and as such am unable to update on the newest but not necessarily the awesomest music of this new decade.

so i have fallen back on the loveliest task of educating those who have obviously been living under not just one rock but an AVALANCHE of rocks, about VAMPIRE WEEKEND.

to be perfectly honest: i didn't really like them at first. but after a second listen, i was convinced of their obvious musical superiority to whatever other junk i was listening to at the time. (probably something from disney). They're just so... refreshing.

so without further ado. i give you Vampire Weekend Itunes session EP including A-Punk (I'd definitely give this song a go), Holiday (thumbs-up) , I'm Going Down, Have I The Right and Cousins Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa[ :) ]

If you find that you enjoy them, give Oxford Comma, Cousins and Mansarf Roof a go.
